Easy skull apple snacks are healthy party treats that kids and adults love! They are perfect party foods for 5 Alive card game skulls, zombie game ideas, or theme party nights where you want to, you know, eat… skulls??? (Seriously, though, kids will love these if you’re hosting a kids game night!)

Easy Skull Apple Snacks For Game Night
Making these creepy apple snacks is almost as fun as eating them. That’s because you don’t really know how they’re going to turn out.
You can make them ahead (“a head”, see what I did there?!?), but they’re a fun and funny food craft for a game intermission.

EAT & PLAY PAIRING: These apple skulls are super cute to pair up with the 5 Alive card game because it looks like the skull cards. Easy recipe for game night themes and no mess finger foods when playing games! (Also great for a zombie party theme!)

Equipment
- Toothpicks
Ingredients
- 1 apple large
- 1 teaspoon white sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Place apple on cutting board, with the apple stem at the top. Slice a small circle off of one side of the apple (starting at top and slicing down toward cutting board). Set aside. Continue slicing about 1/4-inch thick so that you have round slices. (We got about 4 slices out of the large apple until we got to the core.) Turn the apple to the other side, slice of a small round and continue slicing the apple slice like you did before.
- Using a toothpick, "carve" a face into each apple slice.
- Leave some of the carved apple slices plain. Sprinkle some with cinnamon and sugar. You can also sprinkle some with sugar sprinkles (optional) to match your game night. For example, if you're making this a 5 Alive Card Game snacks, you can sugar sprinkle the apples with the colors of the cards. Set aside.
- Spray air fryer basket or tray with cooking oil. Preheat the air fryer at 400°F for 2-3 minutes.
- Place carved apple slices in a single layer on bottom of air fryer. Air fry the apples for 5-10 minutes, depending on your air fryer. IMPORTANT: The plain ones will take less time than the apples covered in sugar. Keep a close eye on your fried apples, checking them every 2 minutes so they don't burn. Carefully remove from air fryer and let cool before eating. Continue air frying until all apples are cooked.
- Remove, laugh, and serve. They are great plain or with a dipping sauce like a yogurt fruit dip or caramel dip.
